Scams change, red flags don’t.

Hi, my name is Jessica Nye, cyber supervisor with the FBI in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Every single day there are cyber threats targeting you and your loved ones. It is our responsibility for each and every one of us to do our part to protect ourselves and our families. Listen to these red flags and ensure that you and your loved ones won’t become the victim.

Requests of payment via gift cards, wire transfers, or virtual currency. Scammers may create a sense of urgency or deadline to pay quickly. Scammers may demand secrecy from you. You may see in their language poor grammar or misspellings.

And as always, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If you receive any of these cyber threats, please report them to ic3.gov.
