The Washington Field Office honors Joseph B. Donovan, senior vice president of Beacon Capital, for his work in developing Project Touchstone, a program established to enhance relationships between law enforcement and our nation’s leading private sector companies.

For two years, Project Touchstone has focused on the development and nurturing of trusted relationships between law enforcement and key Washington, D.C.-based private sector stakeholders. During Touchstone interactions, information is provided to help the private sector companies secure their assets. Mr. Donovan also incorporates the Touchstone approach when interacting with neighborhoods and communities that face identified criminal threats. Through coordinated tabletop sessions, community members discuss threat trends and encourage networking to share information and keep their communities safe.

Through Project Touchstone, Mr. Donovan has helped law enforcement gain a better understanding of the inner workings of private sector companies which, in return, allows for law enforcement to better integrate with the greater homeland security enterprise. Mr. Donovan’s success with Project Touchstone, in addition to his personal knowledge and expertise, has led to the deployment of Project Touchstone in multiple cities nationwide.
