Mollie Halpern: A South Carolina woman is wanted by the FBI after allegedly abducting her 11-year-old daughter.

The FBI is seeking information on the whereabouts of Jennifer Lea Settle and her daughter, McKenna Butcher.

Special Agent Robert Hamod says the alleged abduction happened in April after Settle learned that McKenna’s father would receive full custody.

Robert Hamod: It was at that point that Jennifer took McKenna to Maryland and visited some family friends where she told them that she was going to disappear and that they would never hear from her again.

Halpern: McKenna’s father, Michael Butcher, says he’s desperate to see his daughter again.

Michael Butcher: She’s my only child. She needs a loving father. It’s been a very, very, sad situation all around.

Halpern: If you have information about this case, call your local police or FBI field office. Images of the mother and daughter are available on fbi.gov. With Wanted by the FBI, I’m Mollie Halpern of the Bureau.
