Investigating and preventing hate crimes is one of the FBI's top priorities. Why? Because a hate crime not only harms the victim but strikes fear and intimidation into their entire community, our community.

00:00:26:24 - 00:00:40:46
A hate crime is a criminal offense against a person or property motivated by bias against race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, disability, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

00:00:40:50 - 00:00:49:27
We in the FBI stand ready to use all the tools at our disposal to reduce the threat of hate crimes and fulfill our mission to protect every American.

00:00:49:32 - 00:01:08:54
No one in our community should live in fear based on who they are. If you have been a victim or witness to a hate crime, dial 1-800-Call-FBI or submit a tip at tips.fbi.gov. We're working hard in the FBI with all our law enforcement partners to protect the community.

00:01:09:08 - 00:01:10:41
But we can only do that with your help.
