I'm supervisory special agent Andrew Abramowitz from the FBI's Buffalo, New York, field office. Over the last five years, the FBI has seen a 25% increase in reported hate crimes. These are crimes against a person or property that is motivated by someone's bias and hate crimes not only harm victims, but they strike fear into our communities. We often see victims feel anxious or worried that they might be victimized again. Our office is committed to combating hate crime, to seeking justice and, most importantly, providing assistance to victims.
