Zachary Harmon

Chief of Staff

Zachary (Zack) Harmon has served as the chief of staff for the Director since February 2018. Previously, Mr. Harmon was a partner in the King & Spalding law firm.

Mr. Harmon has worked at the Department of Justice as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C. and as a prosecutor in the Tax Division. He also worked as a trial attorney on the Enron Task Force and served as counsel to then-Deputy Attorney General Larry Thompson. Following the conviction of former FBI agent Robert Hanssen for espionage, then-FBI Director William Webster chose Mr. Harmon to lead a team of government experts reviewing the Bureau’s security programs.

Mr. Harmon is a graduate of Princeton University and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas at Austin.
