Dave Schlendorf Assistant Director, Resource Planning Office

Director Robert S. Mueller, III has named David Schlendorf assistant director (AD) of the FBI’s Resource Planning Office. In that capacity, he will be responsible for leading the formulation and execution of enterprise-wide performance management and strategic planning efforts.

Mr. Schlendorf joined the FBI in 2003 as a special advisor to the chief financial officer. In that role, he worked on a range of business process improvement and performance management initiatives. In 2005, Mr. Schlendorf was assigned to the office of the executive assistant director for administration, where he continued to work on business process improvement initiatives and also focused on a range of human capital initiatives.

Beginning in 2006, Mr. Schlendorf worked as a special advisor for the associate deputy director, focusing on the implementation of a new strategic planning process. In recognition of his role with the conceptualization and launch of several business process re-engineering, human capital, and strategic planning initiatives, Mr. Schlendorf was named deputy resource planning officer in 2007. Most recently, he served as acting AD of the Resource Planning Office.

Prior to joining the FBI, Mr. Schlendorf was an associate with The Beacon Group in New York City and an analyst with Bowles, Hollowell, Conner & Co. in Charlotte, North Carolina. He earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University and his Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
