FBI Expands Missing Girl Search, Offers $5,000 Reward

The Charlotte Division of the FBI and the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are seeking new tips to find a teenage girl who has been missing for five years. Rachel Natacha Owens was last seen getting into a car outside of her school on May 5, 2011. Rachel rode the school bus to South Brunswick High School in Boiling Spring Lakes, North Carolina. She got off the bus and was seen on surveillance video getting into a small, dark-colored car with a possible South Carolina license plate.

The FBI received information that Rachel may have been seen in Columbus, Ohio as recently as 2014. Special agents are expanding the investigation to Ohio and offering a new $5,000 reward for information that leads to the recovery of Rachel and the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person(s) responsible for her disappearance. She is now 20 years old and may go by “Raquel” or “Rakel.”
