FBI Offers $5,000 Reward for Information on Vandalism of Five Spokane Valley Residences

The FBI’s Seattle Field Office and the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for the September 2020 vandalism of five properties in the same Spokane Valley neighborhood. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual(s) responsible.

The FBI and Spokane County Sheriff’s Office are investigating reports of vandalism and theft in the Spokane Valley that may be politically motivated. In five separate incidents over approximately a two-week period in late September, the suspect(s) spray-painted garage doors and vehicles, stole property, and destroyed yard signs. Damage is estimated to total nearly $20,000.

At one of the locations, a suspect left a handwritten note with distinctive Is dotted with Xs. In another instance, a home surveillance system captured a video of the suspect wearing a sweatshirt. More information about the incidents and photographs can be found on the accompanying poster and on the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office website.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents should contact the FBI’s Seattle Field Office at 206-622-0460, Crime Check at 509-456-2233 and mention reference #10128874, or anonymously at tips.fbi.gov. You may also contact your local FBI office, or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate.
