Goldeneye Bandit Arrested

PHOENIX, AZ—On Monday, December 12th the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force arrested Scott Anthony Martinez, 47, who is believed to be the “Goldeneye Bandit.”

In August, the FBI asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the “Goldeneye Bandit” in connection with two bank robberies but further investigation resulted with the suspect being charged with the following four robberies:

  • June 13, 2016 US Bank 3800 N. Central Ave. Phoenix, AZ
  • July 05, 2016 MidFirst Bank 3030 E. Camelback Rd. Phoenix, AZ
  • August 18, 2016 Chase Bank 3620 N. Central Ave. Phoenix, AZ
  • August 25, 2016 Deer Valley Credit Union 16215 North 28th Ave. Phoenix, AZ

During each robbery, the robber used a demand note to obtain currency which he placed in a bag that he brought. The defendant will remain detained pending his next hearing on December 22, 2016. The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force would like to thank the Phoenix Police Department, the public, and the media for their help in this case.

The suspect has been charged by indictment, filed in federal court. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force is comprised of the Phoenix Police Department, Scottsdale Police Department, Mesa Police Department, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI. No further information will be released at this time.
