New Orleans Man Arrested and Federally Charged with Production of Child Pornography and of Coercion and Enticement of Minors

On Monday, December 5, 2016, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Matthew Pere was arrested by the FBI New Orleans Division’s Violent Crimes Against Children/Human Trafficking Task Force (VCAC/HT TF) on production of child pornography and coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in sexualactivity.

After a lengthy investigation, the VCAC/HT TF arrested Matthew Pere, white male, age 32, in New Orleans, Louisiana, for producing child pornography and coercing and enticing minor victims to engage in sexual activity. Pere was charged with violations of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2251(a)(1), (child pornography production) and Title18, United States Code, Section 2422(b) (coercion and enticement).

Pere was transported to St. Bernard Parish Jail. If convicted, Pere could be sentenced 15 to 30 years for the production of child pornography charges and 10 years to life for the coercion and enticement charges.

This matter will be prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office-Eastern District of Louisiana. The public should be reminded that the above are merely allegations and that all persons are to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
