FBI Detroit Seeking Diverse Special Agent Candidates
Interested Applicants Should Attend Diversity Agent Recruiting Event
The FBI will host an invitation-only Diversity Agent Recruitment (DAR) event in Detroit on September 21, 2023, for select professionals considering a future career as an FBI special agent. Throughout their careers, law enforcement officials meet and work with individuals from all walks of life, so the FBI values varied skills, opinions, and perspectives among its employees. The FBI is currently seeking special agent candidates with diverse backgrounds and expertise in STEM, legal, accounting, foreign language, education, communication, athletics, and other industries.
“Special agents with diverse knowledge and experiences make the FBI stronger,” said Devin J. Kowalski, acting special agent in charge of the FBI’s Detroit Field Office. “The variety of skills and expertise among those on our team strengthens our investigations and helps us find new and innovative ways to protect the community. It takes folks from all industries and cultures to accomplish the FBI mission of protecting the American people and upholding the Constitution of the United States, and we look forward to sharing more about our work at this important event.”
Those who qualify to attend the FBI Detroit DAR will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with current special agents and FBI executives for insight into the position. In addition, physical fitness advisors and applicant coordinators will provide guidance into the special agent application process. There is no cost to attend, and attendees will not be required to submit a formal employment application following the event.
