FBI Lufkin Searches for Suspect in Alto Bank Robbery

DALLAS, TX—FBI Lufkin is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an unknown bank robber, who is believed to be responsible for a bank robbery in Alto, Texas on Friday, May 25, 2018. This individual is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI Lufkin Resident Agency at 936-637-3834 or the FBI Dallas Field Office at 972-559-5000.

On May 25, 2018, an unknown male robbed the BancorpSouth bank located at 134 North Marcus Street in Alto, Texas. The suspect entered the bank carrying a semi-automatic handgun. He then ordered the tellers to open the bank vault. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. At this time, it is not clear if the suspect in question is connected to other bank robberies in the area. There are no photos or surveillance footage available at the moment.

The unknown robber is described as a Black male, between 5 feet 7 to 10 inches tall, ranging in age from 25 to 40 and weighing approximately 160 to 190 pounds. He was wearing a camouflage jacket and hat, shorts, dark sunglasses, a mask, and hand gloves.
