Arrest Made in Westside Abduction Case

Suspect Arrested for Kidnapping and Rape

The Cleveland Division of the FBI, in partnership with the Cleveland Division of Police, the Elyria Police Department, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Attorney General of the State of Ohio, announces that an arrest has been made in the May 21, 2016 abduction of a six-year-old girl. The victim was taken from her home in the 3000 block of West 104th Street in Cleveland. The same suspect was connected to an attempted abduction of a young girl in Elyria, Ohio in February, 2016.

On Friday, December 2, 2016, Justin Christian, a 29-year-old white male, was arrested in Lorain, Ohio without incident by investigators from the FBI, Cleveland Police Department, and Elyria Police Department. He is being held on charges of kidnapping and rape.

Stephen Anthony said, “Our two young victims, their families, and the community can rest easier knowing this child predator is now behind bars. There is no higher priority than protecting our children and thanks to the hard work, persistence, and collaboration by numerous law enforcement professionals, Justin Christian has been brought to justice and will be held accountable for these terrible crimes.”

“Detectives and agents have worked this case tirelessly for the last seven months, and we are pleased to announce an arrest in this case,” said Cleveland Division of Police Calvin D. Williams. “With this suspect behind bars, our children are safer. This case could not have been solved without the partnered effort of all of these agencies.”

Justin Christian is expected to be indicted today in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. This continues to be an ongoing case. Suspicious information regarding Justin Christian can be reported to law enforcement at (216) 622-6842.
