FBI Seeks Assistance Locating the 'Lion Man' Bank Robber
The FBI is asking for the public’s help in finding a man who has been seen wearing the same baseball cap in two bank robberies and an attempted bank robbery. Witnesses say the robber wears a Detroit Lions hat and dark sunglasses in an attempt to disguise himself.
Agents say he robbed the Capital One Bank at 11241 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland, on April 28, and the Capital One Bank at 11261 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring on April 21. He is also believed to be the same man who attempted to rob the Wells Fargo Bank at 2320 Ashton Street in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 21. A bank employee approached the man while he was standing in line at the Wells Fargo, and he left the bank without incident.
Witnesses describe him as a black man, about 40 years old, with salt and pepper in his beard and mustache. He hands the tellers a note demanding money and threatening to use a weapon.
Anyone who has information about the robber or the robberies is asked to call the Baltimore Division of the FBI at 410-265-8080.
