Joshua Abeyta, 22, of Rio Rancho, has been arrested in connection with the robbery on Monday, October 19, 2015, of Santa Fe Federal Credit Union at 7101 Jefferson St. NE in Albuquerque.

Abeyta, who was arrested by the Albuquerque Police Department shortly after the 11:45 a.m. robbery, is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Tuesday.

Witnesses said a man walked into the credit union and handed a teller a note demanding money.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who left the credit union.

No further information will be released until after the court appearance.

The public is reminded that defendants are presumed to be innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
