  1. Portland: Imprisoned Spy and Son Indicted

    Former C.I.A. spy, Harold James Nicholson and his son, Nathaniel James Nicholson, were charged with acting as Russian agents and money laundering.

  2. Philadelphia: Two Judges Charged in Fraud Scheme

    President Judge Mark A. Ciavarella and former President Judge Michael T. Conahan were charged with receiving more than $2.5 million in a wide-ranging fraud scheme.

  3. New York: Four Sri Lankans Plead Guilty

    Sathajhan Sarachandran, Sahilal Sabaratnam, Thiruthanikan Thanigasalam, and Nadarasa Yogarasa pled guilty to conspiring and attempting to provide material support to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, a designated foreign terrorist organization.

  4. New York: President of Investment Firms Arrested

    Nicholas Cosmo, owner/president of Agape World, Inc. and Agape Merchant Advance, LLC, was charged with operating a $370 million Ponzi scheme.

  5. New York: Hedge Fund Manager Arrested

    Arthur G. Nadel, an investment advisor for six funds, was charged with defrauding investors out of more than $300 million.

  6. Phoenix: Customs Official and Wife Charged

    U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Henry M. Gauani and his wife, Flora A. Gauani, were charged with accepting bribes to smuggle drugs into the U.S.

  7. Dallas: County Sheriff Charged

    Former Montague County Sheriff William E. Keating was charged with the sexual assault of a suspect in his custody.

  8. Knoxville: Technology Company Employee Pleads Guilty

    Roy Lynn Oakley, an employee at the East Tennessee Technology Park, pled guilty to the unlawful disclosure of restricted atomic energy data.

  9. Boston: Three Indicted in Church Arson

    Benjamin Haskell, Michael Jacques and Thomas Gleason were charged with burning a church which was predominantly African-American in retaliation for the election of Barack Obama.

  10. Atlanta: Arrest in Bomb Threats

    Michael Ezzard was arrested by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force for making telephonic bomb threats directed against the Atlanta Housing Authority.
