FBI Director Announces the Appointment of Key Management Posts

FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, III, today announced the appointment of the following individuals to key management posts:

Roderick L. Beverly, Special Agent in Charge of International Operations: Mr. Beverly most recently served as SAC of the San Antonio field office. He is a 19-year Bureau veteran, having served in the San Diego and Miami field offices, in the Organized Crime/Drug Section at FBIHQ, as Assistant Legal Attache in Bogota, Colombia, in the Inspection Division and the Atlanta field office, and as Assistant SAC of the San Juan field office. Mr. Beverly will oversee the Bureau’s Legal Attache Program and the FBIHQ International Operations Branch.

Leah Meisel, Personnel Officer and Deputy Assistant Director for Personnel, Administrative Services Division: Ms. Meisel entered on duty with the Bureau in September 1999 as Chief of the Human Resource Management Section at FBIHQ. Prior to coming to the FBI, she was Deputy Director for Human Resources for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service. Ms. Meisel will oversee the Applicant Processing, Human Resource Management, and Personnel Assistance Sections.

James Bernazzanni Jr., Deputy Chief, Counterterrorist Center, Central Intelligence Agency: Mr. Bernazzani most recently served as Assistant SAC of the Houston field office, overseeing organized crime and drug investigations. He has 17 years of experience as an investigator.

Robert K. Cromwell, Chief of the Applicant Processing Section, Administrative Services Division: Mr. Cromwell most recently served as Assistant SAC of the Jackson field office. He entered on duty with the Bureau as a Special Agent in January 1984. Mr. Cromwell will oversee the Bureau Applicant, Special Inquiry and General Background Investigation, and Background Investigation Contract Service Units.

Mary Ann Woodson, Budget Officer and Chief of the Budget Section, Finance Division: Ms. Woodson entered on duty with the Bureau in April 1979 and most recently has been Chief of the Budget Formulation and Presentation Unit and acting Budget Officer in the Finance Division. She will oversee the Bureau’s financial and budget analysis functions and the preparation and presentation of its budget.
