David Bennett Named Assistant Director of the Human Resources Division

Director Robert S. Mueller, III named David G. Bennett as assistant director of the FBI’s Human Resources Division. Mr. Bennett most recently served as deputy assistant director of the Human Resources Division.

“Dave brings a wealth of experience in HR services, staffing and hiring, and employee development to the position,” said Director Mueller. “I am confident that under his leadership, we will continue to advance our human resources goals and objectives in order to achieve our mission.”

Mr. Bennett entered on duty as a special agent in 1987. He has served as a senior resident agent in Albany, Georgia and Lawton, Oklahoma working complex white-collar crime, violent crime, Indian Country crime, drug, terrorism, and civil rights matters.

In 1998, he was promoted to supervisory special agent and supervised six resident agencies throughout the western half of Oklahoma. He also served as crisis management coordinator of the Oklahoma City Division for seven years. In 2000, Mr. Bennett became the white-collar crime squad supervisor and program coordinator.

Mr. Bennett served as acting assistant special agent in charge of the criminal programs and  became the cyber squad supervisor and program coordinator in 2004. In 2005, he was promoted to unit chief of the Special Agent Mid-Level Management Unit at FBI Headquarters. A year later, he became assistant section chief and implemented the Headquarters staffing initiative and oversaw the career path designation and joint duty development programs.

In 2008, Mr. Bennett was promoted to assistant special agent in charge for the Administrative Division at the Washington Field Office before returning to FBI Headquarters.
