Wayne A. Jacobs Named Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Philadelphia Field Office

Director Christopher Wray has named Wayne A. Jacobs as the special agent in charge of the Philadelphia Field Office. He most recently served as special agent in charge of the Washington Field Office over the Criminal and Cyber division.  

Mr. Jacobs joined the FBI as a special agent in 2003 and was assigned to the New York Field Office, where he worked government and financial fraud and, later, violent crimes and gangs. In 2014, he was promoted to supervisory special agent in the Criminal Investigative Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C.  

In 2016, he was named a violent gangs task force squad supervisor in the Los Angeles Field Office. In 2018, he was named assistant special agent in charge of the Mission Support Branch in the Newark Field Office. In 2020, he was promoted to a section chief in the Counterintelligence Division at FBI Headquarters.  

In 2021, Mr. Jacobs was named special agent in charge of the Criminal and Cyber division at the Washington Field Office in Washington, D.C.  

Before joining the FBI, he was a trading systems analyst. Mr. Jacobs earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree from Columbia University.
