Michelle S. Klimt, special agent in charge (SAC) of the FBI Jacksonville Division, is pleased to announce that Mr. Dale R. Landry has been selected as the 2015 recipient of the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award (DCLA). On Tuesday, March 8, 2016, SAC Klimt presented Mr. Landry with a certificate of appreciation at a ceremony in Tallahassee.

Mr. Landry is being honored for his work to strengthen communication between law enforcement agencies and African American communities across North Florida. In recent months, his efforts have helped advance investigations and promote a greater understanding of the FBI’s mission, while restoring trust in justice system.

“From mentoring troubled youth in the juvenile justice system, to hosting town hall meetings with concerned parents, Mr. Landry’s efforts have helped ease tensions across North Florida,” said SAC Klimt. “The FBI Jacksonville Division is proud to stand with him and share his vision of a safer community.”

On April 15, 2016, FBI Director James B. Comey will personally present the DCLA to Mr. Landry at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. The DCLA was created in 1990 and is awarded to community leaders in each of the FBI’s 56 field offices. The award recognizes those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to keep America and its children safe. It is a way to honor individuals and organizations for their efforts in combating crime, terrorism, drugs, and violence in America.
