FBI Offers $2,500 Reward for Information Leading to Arrest, Conviction of Unknown Clinic Arson Subject

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects who participated in the May 25, 2016 arson at a women’s health clinic in Stanislaus County.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., Modesto Police Department officers and the Modesto Fire Department responded to an alarm at the Planned Parenthood Clinic located at 1431 McHenry Avenue in Modesto. When units arrived, the fire suppression system had extinguished the flames, but the entry and façade of the building sustained substantial fire damage. Approximately one-third of the building also sustained water damage. Subsequent investigation at the scene indicated an incendiary device had been thrown through the clinic’s glass front doors.

The FBI and the Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit are investigating this incident as arson. Any individual who may have information regarding the person or people responsible for this crime may call 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324), their local FBI office, or submit a tip online. A self-printable poster is available on the FBI Sacramento Field Office website.
