The Richmond Division of the FBI will be hosting their third annual Youth Academy the summer of 2019. A comprehensive look into today’s FBI, this two-day program will provide students with behind-the-scenes demonstrations from our Evidence Response Team and special agent bomb technicians, and instruction from various other investigative squads to include violent crime and cyber. This is not an internship program and while students may be presented with case studies drawn from adjudicated cases during this session, they will not be exposed to active cases or day-to-day investigations.

The Youth Academy will be held on Tuesday, July 16 and Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Richmond Field Office located at 1970 East Parham Road in Richmond, Virginia. The program will be limited to thirty students.

Students interested in participating in the FBI Richmond Youth Academy must have parental approval and meet the minimum eligibility requirements, as follows:

• United States citizen.
• Reside in Virginia.
• Enrolled in an accredited high school or home-school environment, recognized by your school district.
• Between the ages of 15 and 18.
• Junior or senior status during the 2019-2020 academic year.
• Grade point average of 2.5 or better.

Students who meet the minimum eligibility requirements, are required to complete an application process to compete for acceptance into the program. A typed application and 500-word essay must be submitted no later than close of business Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Paperwork received after that date will not be accepted or given further consideration.
