MIAMI—SAC George L. Piro presented Mr. Daniel Puder with the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award during a ceremony held at the FBI Miami’s main office on Monday, December 14, 2020. The award recognizes Puder’s work as the founder of the My Life My Power, Inc. (MLMP) Prep Academy School System that focuses on the emotional, belief, and physiological intelligence of 180 students from 6-12 grades who were expelled from traditional public schools.

In light of health and travel concerns related to COVID-19, the annual ceremony celebrating the Director’s Community Leadership Awards (DCLA) at FBI Headquarters was canceled this year.

Puder’s students are educated through a life-based curriculum developed by MLMP and accredited through Nova Southeastern University’s “Experiential Course.” MLMP’s goal is to find solutions that will enable these students to fulfill their educational requirements.

Additionally, Mr. Puder has demonstrated a willingness to work with law enforcement to not only enrich the lives of his students, but also to bridge the gap between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.

“Daniel Puder is an innovative, solution-oriented community leader who, through his school, is giving kids a second chance at receiving a quality education,” said George L. Piro, special agent in charge, FBI Miami. “May his example lead the way for others looking to improve their own communities.”

Each year, the Director’s Community Leadership Award recognizes leaders from around the country who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to their local communities through service. The FBI is grateful for the work of each of these individuals and organizations.
