FBI Jacksonville Holds First 'Ask an Agent' Event

On a humid afternoon in June, four special agents from the FBI Jacksonville Field Office each grabbed a cup of coffee and a quiet spot at a local café. Within minutes, hopeful applicants began filing in, anxious to get their questions answered.

FBI Jacksonville’s first ever "Ask an Agent" event was designed to give special agent candidates insight on everything from eligibility requirements to the quality of life that the FBI provides. From the typical work day (there isn't one) to preparing for the physical fitness test, candidates spent approximately 30 minutes speaking one-on-one with those who know the job best.

One participant asked for guidance on making the transition from life in the military to a career in law enforcement. Like many special agent candidates, he was serving active duty at one of Jacksonville’s several military bases and expressed a desire to continue to protect and serve.

FBI Jacksonville held an "Ask an Agent" event in June 2018 to give special agent candidates insight on everything from eligibility requirements to the quality of life that the FBI provides.
