The FBI and Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Seek the Public’s Help in Identifying Monterey Takeover Bank Robbery Suspects

SAN FRANCISCO—The FBI and Monterey County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s help in identifying the people responsible for a bank robbery in Castroville, Calif. on Aug. 22.

Two suspects entered the Rabobank on 10601 Merritt Street at approximately 9:50 a.m. and demanded money upon displaying a handgun. The suspects fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspects threatened the customers and employees with the weapon but no one was injured.

Witnesses described the suspects as Hispanic males in their 20s. One of the suspects is approximately 5’6” with a stocky build; the other is approximately 5’8” with a medium build. The suspects were carrying a black backpack with a white design. Both wore black clothing, including hooded sweatshirts and black masks concealing part of their faces.

These suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.

This investigation is being conducted jointly by the FBI and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
