FBI and Local Law Enforcement Seek Public’s Assistance to Identify the Beer Gut Bandit
Suspect Believed to be Responsible for Four Bank Robberies This Month

The El Cajon Police Department, La Mesa Police Department, San Diego Police Department, and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify an unknown male believed to be responsible for three bank robberies. The latest robbery in this series occurred on Saturday, July 20, 2013.
On Saturday, July 20, 2013, at approximately 11:57 a.m., the Wells Fargo Bank located at 1235 Avocado Avenue, El Cajon, California, was robbed by an unknown male now dubbed the “Beer Gut Bandit.” At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the bank and paused at an island counter in the bank lobby. The robber then approached the victim teller and presented a demand note for cash. The demand note threatened the robber was armed with a bomb and demanded specific denominations. After receiving a sum of money, the robber exited the bank. No injuries were reported.
The Beer Gut Bandit is believed to be responsible for the following bank robberies:

- Height: Approximately 5’7” to 6’0” tall
- Weight: Approximately 200 lbs.-230 lbs.
- Hair: Gray and black hair, goatee beard with mustache
- Build: Medium to heavy with a
- Age: Mid-50s
- Complexion: Ruddy complexion with acne scars
- Clothing: Glasses with clear tinted lenses and beige T-shirt; and carries a blue or green recyclable tote bag
