Idaho Falls Man Pleads Guilty to Possessing Child Pornography

POCATELLO—Christopher W. Kremer, 49, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, has pleaded guilty to possession of sexually exploitative material of children, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced. Kremer appeared yesterday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ronald E. Bush at the federal courthouse in Pocatello.
According to the plea agreement, Kremer admitted to owning and possessing a computer containing over 600 sexually explicit images of children.
The charge of possessing sexually explicit material of children is punishable by up to 10 years in prison, a fine up to $250,000, and a maximum of lifetime supervised release.
Sentencing is set for October 11, 2011, before Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), U.S. Department of Energy Office of Inspector General, and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.
