Cheap Sunglasses Bandit

The FBI Phoenix Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the “Cheap Sunglasses Bandit.” In the first robbery, an unknown male handed the victim teller a note that said, “I have a gun, put the money in the bag.” In the second robbery the unknown male placed a book bag on the counter and told the victim teller to give him all the money or he would shoot. In the most recent robbery the unknown male placed a leopard print purse on the counter and demanded money.
The locations and dates are as follows:
- January 12, 2009, Desert Schools Federal Credit Union (Inside Wal-Mart), 1966 S. Stapely Dr., Mesa
- January 7, 2009, Desert Schools Federal Credit Union (Inside Fry’s Grocery Store), 2010 S. Alma School Rd., Chandler
- January 3, 2009, Chase Bank (Inside Basha’s Grocery Store), 1920 W. Chandler Blvd., Chandler
The unknown male is described as a Black male in his late 20’s to mid 30’s, 6’2”, 160 – 180 lbs. wearing dark sunglasses.
