FBI Seeks Fugitive Wanted for Bank Fraud Charges

On January 26, 2010, Richard Guppy was charged with bank fraud in the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York, Brooklyn, New York, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. It is alleged that between January of 2008 and February of 2009, Guppy was involved in a large-scale mortgage fraud involving forged documents and identity fraud. He also allegedly attempted to defraud a well-known banking institution through fraudulent mortgage loans obtained in connection with the purchase of real property in Florida.
Richard Guppy is 30 years old, (DOB 02/12/1980), 5’3” tall, 185 lbs, with brown eyes and black hair, which may be shaved. Guppy has ties to Queens, New York (Hollis area) and the Orlando, Florida metropolitan area. He may have traveled to the Pocono, Pennsylvania area. In addition, Guppy may also be trying to start a career in rap music.
“We have had much success to date in capturing our wanted fugitives by displaying their picture in various media outlets, including the Clear Channel digital billboard in Times Square. Somebody out there knows where Richard Guppy is and the FBI is seeking the public’s assistance in locating him. If you know where Guppy is hiding out, report him to the FBI or local law enforcement,” said Special Agent Richard Kolko.
