Director Christopher Wray has named Hayden Temin as the assistant director of the Human Resources Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. She most recently served as the assistant director of the Resource Planning Office (RPO).

Ms. Temin started her FBI career in 2006 as a special advisor for the Finance Division and later as a special advisor for the Human Resources Branch. She was promoted in 2008 to chief of the Business Process Management Unit in the Resource Planning Office. As unit chief, Ms. Temin standardized processes, launched new automation initiatives, and stabilized the FBI’s enterprise workflow platform for more than 30,000 users.

In 2010, Ms. Temin was promoted to chief of RPO’s Business Improvement Section. One of her roles was to help coordinate and manage the FBI’s response to federal budget cuts under sequestration, which included a loss of 1,800 employees from FBI Headquarters and the transfer of 1,000 positions to FBI field offices.

Ms. Temin transferred to chief of RPO’s other section, the Strategy and Performance Section, in 2014. She led the refresh of the FBI’s strategy, which included establishing new mission and vision statements, strategic objectives, and strategy management process.

She was promoted to RPO assistant director in 2016 and was responsible for the Bureau’s $5.8 billion compensation and benefits budget. She also oversaw strategy, internal policy, performance measurement and data, and other issues.

Prior to joining the FBI, Ms. Temin worked for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, The Brookings Institution, and the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress. She has an undergraduate degree in economics from Kenyon College and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
