Two New Orleans Men Each Sentenced for Bank Robbery Conspiracy

COREY RICHARDSON, age 37, and VINCENT BEVERLY, age 22, both residents of New Orleans, Louisiana, were sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Carl J. Barbier for conspiring to commit an armed bank robbery, announced U.S. Attorney Jim Letten.
Specifically, RICHARDSON was sentenced to over 20 years—five years (60 months) for the conspiracy charge, and over 15 years (188 months) to run currently to the five-year sentence for the charge of armed robbery. BEVERLY was sentenced to five years (60 months) for his role in the conspiracy.
Judge Barbier ordered that BEVERLY’s federal sentence run consecutively to his seven-year probation revocation in state court for simple robbery and aggravated assault on a police officer.
According to court documents, on January 13, 2011, RICHARDSON and BEVERLY pled guilty, admitting that on May 4, 2010, they conspired with co-defendants Errol Harris and Doriyah Jordan to commit bank robbery on the Capital One Bank located at 2447 Highway 18, Edgard, Louisiana. RICHARDSON also admitted he was armed and entered the bank with co-defendant Harris and robbed the federally insured bank of approximately $21,649.00 U.S. Currency.
Harris and Jordan also pled guilty and are set for sentencing later this spring.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant United States Elizabeth Privitera.
