Red Lake Arrests

FBI Special Agent in Charge Richard T. Thornton, in conjunction with the Red Lake Department of Public Safety, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Headwaters Safe Trails Task Force, and the Paul Bunyan Task Force, announces the arrests of the following individuals on the Red Lake Indian Reservation:

  1. Hernesto Jesus Montes, date of birth 07/18/1994, of Brooklyn Park;
  2. Erivan Argenix Gomez, date of birth 06/12/1996, of Minneapolis;
  3. Miguel Rios Quintero, date of birth 01/19/1991, of Minneapolis;
  4. A minor (name intentionally withheld)

On March 8, 2016, at approximately 3 p.m., the Red Lake Department of Public Safety, in conjunction with the aforementioned entities, conducted simultaneous vehicle stops on two vehicles on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Approximately four pounds of high-grade crystal methamphetamine and three pounds of marijuana were discovered and confiscated by law enforcement officials. In addition, more than $5,000 in cash was recovered during these stops.

Following their arrests by the Red Lake Department of Public Safety, all four individuals were transferred into state custody and are being detained at the Beltrami County Jail.

The aforementioned individuals are presumed innocent of any crime(s) until or unless they are convicted in a court of law.
