Grand Jury Returns Indictments

MADISON, WI—A federal grand jury in the Western District of Wisconsin, sitting in Madison, returned the following indictments today. You are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
LA CROSSE MAN FACES CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES
Jeremy Hogenkamp, 35, La Crosse, Wis., is charged with two counts of distributing child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. The indictment alleges that he distributed image and video files of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on December 31, 2009 and January 5, 2010. The indictment also alleges that on February 4, 2010, he possessed a computer hard drive containing visual depictions of child pornography.
If convicted, Hogenkamp faces a mandatory minimum penalty of five years and a maximum of 20 years in federal prison on each distribution count, and a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison on the possession count. The charges against him are the result of an investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation; Federal Bureau of Investigation; U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; and Toronto Police Department. The prosecution of this case has been assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy M. O’Shea.
RHINELANDER MAN CHARGED WITH GUN CRIME
Jay W. Lloyd, 37, Rhinelander, Wis., is charged with being a felon in possession of firearms. The indictment alleges that in September 2011, he possessed 15 firearms, including five rifles, five shotguns and five handguns.
If convicted, Lloyd faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in federal prison and a maximum of life. The charges against him are the result of an investigation by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The prosecution of this case has been assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney Rita M. Rumbelow.
ARKDALE MAN CHARGED WITH GUN CRIME
Ricardo Cantu, 50, Arkdale, Wis., is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. The indictment alleges that on August 11, 2011, he possessed a shotgun and ammunition.
If convicted, Cantu faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison. The charges against him are the result of an investigation by the Sauk and Adams County Sheriffs’ Departments and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The prosecution of this case has been assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney Munish Sharda.
TWO MEN CHARGED WITH CONSPIRACY TO MANUFACTURE SYNTHETIC CANNABINOIDS
Jeffrey J. Marg, 26, Fall Creek, Wis., and Jeffery L. Coshow, 22, Springbrook, Wis., are charged with conspiracy to manufacture synthetic cannabinoids. Marg is also charged with four counts of distributing synthetic cannabinoids. The indictment alleges that Marg distributed the substances on August 25, September 8, October 13 and October 25, 2011.
Marg and Coshow were arrested on October 27 and were charged by a complaint filed in U.S. District Court. They are scheduled to be arraigned in federal court in Madison on November 18.
If convicted, Marg and Coshow face a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison on the conspiracy charge. Marg faces an additional penalty of 20 years in federal prison on each distribution count. The charges against them are the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and West Central Drug Task Force. The prosecution of this case has been assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey M. Anderson.
