FBI Announces an Arrest Made in Connection with Two Dade County Bank Robberies

The FBI announces the arrest of Javier Jesus Alvarado, 21, of Miami, Florida, for his alleged involvement in two Dade County, Florida bank robberies, to include one count of attempted bank robbery on or about May 27, 2015 (Chase Bank branch at 2750 SW 22nd Street, Miami) and one count of bank robbery on or about June 22, 2015 (Chase Bank branch at 2209 SW 37th Ave, Miami). The arrest was made without incident by the City of Miami Police Department, the FBI, and the South Florida Violent Crime Task Force (SFVCTF) last Friday afternoon (June 26, 2015) in the vicinity of the 2900 block of SW 2nd Street, Miami.

Alvarado is in federal custody and is facing federal charges. Alvarado’s initial appearance is expected to be this morning in Federal Court in Miami.

The City of Miami Police Department, the FBI, and the SFVCTF continue their investigation.

The criminal complaint may be found on PACER later today.
