Hazardous Material Incident in West Palm Beach

FBI Miami October 07, 2011
  • Special Agent Michael D. Leverock (754) 703-2000

Yesterday, the FBI conducted an interview at a residence located in the Ibis Golf and Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Through the interview and other means, it was determined that there may be hazardous substances/chemicals located inside the home.

Out of an abundance of caution, the area has been cordoned off and the residence was evacuated. As a precautionary measure, a specially equipped team is on site to take part in the investigation which may take an extended period of time.

The FBI is being assisted by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (BATF), West Palm Beach Police Department, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, West Palm Beach Fire Rescue, and IBIS Public Safety Department.

As this is an ongoing investigation, no further information is available.
