Bandaged Bandit Linked to Three Bank Heists

The “Bandaged Bandit” is now suspected in at least three Houston Area Bank Robberies. The robber—originally nicknamed for the bandage covering his right hand—has only two fingers covered during his latest robberies. Investigators believe the robber is using these tactics to avoid leaving finger prints on the threatening notes he hands to tellers. The robber is clearly visible in the newly released bank surveillance video. Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identity and arrest of the Bandaged Bandit.

On Saturday, August 29, 2015, at about 10:11 a.m., the robber entered the bank and waited in line before approaching the teller at the Capital One Bank located at 153 Greens Road in Houston, Texas. With his index finger and thumb tips covered, the robber handed the teller a threatening note. After tellers delayed the robber for several minutes, he left without getting any cash.

At about 5:52 p.m. the same day, the same man is believed to have entered the Woodforest National Bank located at 3450 FM 1960 Road West in Houston, Texas. This time the robber told the teller he needed to cash a check but instead handed the teller a threatening note demanding cash. The teller, fearing her life, gave the robber an undisclosed amount of cash. He got away in a four door white sedan, possibly a Dodge or Chrysler.

The same robber is also linked to the robbery of the First Convenience Bank located inside the Walmart at 10411 North Freeway in Houston, Texas on August 1, 2015. No one was physically hurt in any of the three robberies.

The Bandaged Bandit is described as a black male, about 5’10” tall, 180 to 200 pounds, with a medium build and a dark complexion. In all three robberies he wore long sleeves and dark sunglasses. In both robberies on Saturday, witnesses observed the robber leaving the scene in a four door white sedan, possibly a Dodge or Chrysler. Following the robbery of the First Convenience Bank on August 1, 2015, the robber was last seen driving a black Mercedes sports utility vehicle (SUV) with a sun roof.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and arrest of this robber.
