SAIPAN—Saturday, May 25th is marked as National Missing Children’s Day, which was first proclaimed by former President Ronald Reagan in 1983. The 25th also happens to be the eighth anniversary of the disappearance of Faloma and Maleina Luhk, who vanished from the United States Territory of Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the whereabouts of the two young sisters.

Faloma and Maleina Luhk, who were ages 10 and nine at the time of their disappearance, were last seen waiting at a bus stop in Santa Lourdes on the morning of May 25, 2011. Their disappearance sparked a massive community and law enforcement effort to locate them.

Eight years later, the FBI remains dedicated to work with the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) Department of Public Safety (DPS) to find the missing girls.

This past fall, the FBI announced the launch of the website luhksisters.org which is dedicated to soliciting tips and information regarding the missing sisters. Since its launch, the site has provided an easy way for people to submit and share information that could help to solve the mystery behind the girls’ disappearance. The FBI has been grateful for the input received and encourages anyone with information to visit the site and share information— keeping in mind that no tip is too small.
