Help the FBI Identify the Fledgling Bandit

The FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force needs the public’s help identifying an individual who has robbed four banks in Front Range cities. The suspect appears to be new to this violation and is being dubbed the “Fledgling Bandit.”

The suspect is believed to be responsible for these bank robberies:

  • December 11, 2023, at 1:20 p.m., Chase Bank, 10404 Colorado Boulevard, Thornton
  • December 18, 2023, at 4:30 p.m., Blue Credit Union, 6460 E. Yale Avenue, Denver
  • January 24, at 4:55 p.m., Wells Fargo Bank, 1960 28th St., Boulder
  • January 25, at 4:45 p.m., Chase Bank, 8501 E. Arapahoe Road, Greenwood Village

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male in his 30s, 5’6” – 5’8” tall, 180 pounds, medium build with brown hair possibly cut in a “fade” hairstyle and a stud earring.

Please be on the lookout for anyone matching the above descriptions. Be aware of anyone similar who might have recently changed their spending habits or discussed coming into money suddenly.

Bank robbery is punishable by up to 20 years in prison for each federal offense, and sentences can increase if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime. The FBI continues to provide financial institutions with best practices for security to make them less vulnerable to robberies.
