Seven Year Old Found Safe; Mother Charged

Lyons, Ga—FBI Atlanta and the Lyons Police Department, along with law enforcement partners in Puerto Rico, have found seven-year-old Stella Brannen Salter. She is safe and now with her father.

Stella had been missing for more than a week and was found in the custody of her non-custodial mother. Authorities located Wendy Salter and Stella at a retail store in Puerto Rico at about noon on Saturday.

Lyons Police have charged Wendy Salter with Interstate Interference with Child Custody. Wendy will go through extradition proceedings and will then be brought back to Georgia.

Thanks to all the law enforcement agencies that assisted with this investigation. Lyon’s Police Department, U.S. Marshals Service, GBI, Toombs County DA’s Office, Candler County Sheriff’s Office, and the Metter Police Department all played integral parts in this case.
