Scruffy Faced Bandit Strikes Again

Acting Special Agent in Charge (A/SAC) George Crouch, FBI Atlanta, in conjunction with Roswell Police Chief Rusty Grant, Cobb County Police Chief John R. Houser, and Cherokee County Sheriff Roger Garrison, once again requested the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the individual who has now robbed at least six metro Atlanta-area banks.

The latest bank robbery happened at the Chase Bank branch located at 4490 Wade Green Road inKennesaw, Georgia on November 1, 2016. At around 4:15 p.m., a lone white male entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. Witnesses told investigators the suspect fled the bank on a bicycle, possibly burgundy in color. The suspect is described as a white male with scruffy facial hair, wearing a long-sleeved shirt, dark-colored pants, sunglasses, and a dark-colored baseball cap.

The description and photos from bank surveillance are very similar to a suspect in at least five other robberies. Witnesses in several of those robberies also said the suspect fled on a bicycle.

On Tuesday, August 11, 2016, at approximately 3:38 p.m., a lone white male entered the SunTrust Bank branch located at 2674 Sandy Plains Road in Marietta, Georgia, and provided a demand note to the victim teller announcing a robbery. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the robber departed the bank without further incident. While a weapon was threatened, no weapon was observed.

On Friday, August 19, 2016 at around 5:00 p.m., a lone white male walked into the Bank of America branch located at 10750 Alpharetta Highway in Roswell, Georgia, and gave the teller a demand note. He is described as in his 40s, 5’8” to 5’10” in height, weighing approximately 165-175 pounds, wearing all black, including a black baseball cap with a logo on the front. He had a scruffy beard or goatee and was wearing dark-framed sunglasses. The male left the bank on foot.

On Tuesday, October 4, 2016, a lone white male entered the SunTrust Bank branc h located at 2880 Shallowford Road in Marietta, Georgia, and announced a robbery by presenting the teller with a demand note. He obtained an undisclosed amount of money and was observed fleeing the area on a bicycle.

On Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at approximately 4:35 p.m., a lone white male entered the First Citizens Bank branch located at 3060 Eagle Drive in Woodstock, Georgia, and handed the teller a demand note announcing a robbery. He did not display a weapon. The robber, after obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, departed the bank without further incident and was observed departing the area riding a black mountain bike with red accents and wide/fat tires. He was last observed heading southeast on Parkside Lane toward Towne Lake Hills South Drive. He was described as being in his mid to late 40s in age, 5’10" in height, medium build, with brown mustache and beard and wearing sunglasses, a long-sleeved black Adidas shirt and a black ball cap that possibly reads “Jackson Hole.”

On Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at approximately 2:46 p.m., a lone white male entered the Regions Bank branch located at 865 Woodstock Road in Roswell, Georgia. After approaching a teller, the robber presented a demand note announcing a robbery. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the robber departed the bank without further incident. He was described as being mid to late 40s in age, approximately 6’0" tall, with short scruffy hair and wearing a black hat, sunglasses, and a dark gray long-sleeved shirt. He appeared to have bandages on his hand.
