FBI, Atlanta Police Department Arrest Newark, New Jersey Murder Subject

Special Agent in Charge (SAC) David J. LeValley, FBI Atlanta, in conjunction with FBI Newark SAC Timothy Gallagher, announces the following arrest today at Atlanta, Georgia.

On Tuesday, July 11, 2017, Raheem Rudd, age 24, of Newark, New Jersey, was arrested after a short chase at the intersection of 14th Street and Barnes Street of Atlanta, Georgia by the FBI-led Atlanta Metro Major Offender (AMMO) Task Force that includes Atlanta Police Department task force officers.

Rudd is wanted by the Essex County (Newark) Prosecutor’s Office where he was charged with the January 22, 2017 murder of Kevin Barber in New Jersey.

Rudd is currently being detained at the Fulton County Detention Facility in Atlanta, Georgia, where he will await extradition back to New Jersey on those state charges.

The public should be reminded that the above are merely allegations and that all persons are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
