FBI Arrests Riverdale, Illinois Murder Suspect in Lithonia, Georgia

Special Agent in Charge (SAC) J. Britt Johnson, FBI Atlanta, along with Riverdale, Illinois Chief of Police David DeMik, announces the following arrest in Lithonia (metro Atlanta), Georgia involving a February 28, 2016 murder in Riverdale, Illinois.

Michael R. King, age 34, from Harvey, Illinois, was arrested by FBI agents at a Lithonia, Georgia residence during the evening hours on Friday, March 18, 2016.

On February 28, 2016, Antonio Anderson was shot and killed inside a residence located at 11 West 144th Street in Riverdale, Illinois. Subsequent investigation by the Riverdale Police Department and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force identified Michael R. King as being the individual responsible for Anderson’s murder.

On March 5, 2016, the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illnois issued an arrest warrant for King, charging him with first-degree murder.

King is being detained at the Dekalb County, Georgia Detention Facility, where he awaits extradition back to Illinois to face those charges.

The public should be reminded that the above are allegations and that all persons are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
