FBI and Duluth PD Search for Armed Commercial Robber Stealing IPhone 7Plus

ATLANTA—David J. LeValley, Special Agent in Charge, FBI Atlanta Field Office, in conjunction with R.D. Belcher, Chief of Police, Duluth PD, requests the public’s assistance in its efforts to identify and apprehend the individual responsible for two recent commercial armed robberies that occurred in Duluth, Georgia.

On Sunday, June 11, 2017, at 2:45 p.m., Duluth PD responded to a T-mobile store, located at 2550 Pleasant Hill Road, Suite 416, Duluth, Georgia, in reference to an armed robbery. Witness information indicated that a lone male entered and, while showing a handgun, ordered the store manager to put merchandise (iPhone 7 Plus) into his black, orange-lined backpack. While the robber pointed the gun at him, the manager complied. The robber departed the store without further incident.

On Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at approximately 2:46 p.m., Duluth PD responded to an AT&T store, located at 2570 Pleasant Hill Road, Suite 103, Duluth, Georgia, in reference to an armed robbery. Witness information indicated that a lone male robber wearing all black, and with a red towel/bandana over his face, walked into the front door of the store while producing a handgun. The robber instructed the store employee to take him to the store safe. The employee complied and the robber then instructed the employee to place only iPhone 7 Plus phones into his backpack, stating to the employee not to give him anything else.

The robber is described as being a black male, mid to late 20’s in age, slender build, facial hair, dark jogging pants with vertical white stripes, black backpack with bright orange trim/interior liner, and black semi-auto handgun with possible orange front sights.

This case is being worked by the Duluth Police Department and the FBI Atlanta Field Office.
