  • Public Affairs Specialist Shelley Lynch (704) 672-6766

The Charlotte Division of the FBI and the Apex Police Department are seeking assistance to identify the subject who robbed the BB&T Bank branch located at 1130 Beaver Creek Commons in Apex, North Carolina on March 29, 2012.

The subject jumped the counter during the course of the robbery and ordered customers inside to get on the ground at gunpoint.

The subject, who appeared to have tactical training, is described as a white male, approximately 6” tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a black shirt or pullover, blue jeans, and a black ski mask. He rode a bicycle to the bank and left the scene in a bank employee’s vehicle, which was found abandoned nearby. Surveillance video from the robbery and a photo of the bicycle the robber rode are below.

The FBI is investigating in partnership with the Apex Police Department. If you have any information about the robber’s identity or recognize the photo of the bicycle, call the Charlotte Division of the FBI at 704-672-6100 or the Apex Police Department at 919-362-8661.
