Deputy Director Responds to DAG David Ogden’s Announcement of Departure from Department of Justice

Washington, D.C. December 03, 2009
  • FBI National Press Office (202) 324-3691

Today, FBI Deputy Director John Pistole responded to the announcement by Deputy Attorney General David Ogden that he will leave the Department and return to private practice:

During a time of significant and continuing transition at the FBI, David Ogden has been a strong partner in the national security area, and at the same time, has worked closely with us to strengthen the priority criminal investigative programs to address challenging and evolving threats domestically and internationally. This year has been particularly significant with a steady stream of important cases across the board, from terrorism and espionage to international organized crime, public corruption, financial crimes, and health care fraud.

We at the FBI are grateful to David for his leadership, his partnership, and his support. We will miss him, and wish him the very best.
