Anna, Illinois Man Pleads Guilty to Production of Child Pornography

An Anna, Illinois man pled guilty to production of child pornography in Federal District Court in Benton, Illinois on July 7, 2011, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Stephen R. Wigginton, announced today. Rondale Lee Chapman, 45, will face a minimum 15-year sentence for production of child pornography when he is sentenced on November 3, 2011.

Following release from imprisonment, Chapman will serve a lifetime term of supervised release and will be required to register as a sex offender. Chapman has been in custody since his arrest on March 10, 2011.

The investigation into Chapman’s illegal activities was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Cyber Crime Task Force, the Union County Sheriff’s Office, the Jonesboro Police Department, and the Union County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tom Leggans.
