Moon Township Man Charged with Bank Robbery

PITTSBURGH, PA—A resident of Moon Township, Pennsylvania has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on a charge of bank robbery, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
The one-count indictment named Christopher Lyons, 32, as the sole defendant.
According to the indictment, on or about November 6, 2011, Lyons robbed the Citizens Bank branch located at 5990 University Boulevard in Moon Township of $1,140.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Almon Burke, Jr., who presented the case to the grand jury, indicated that the law provides for a maximum total sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Moon Township Police Department conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
