Pittsburgh Man Charged with Possessing Heroin with Intent to Distribute

PITTSBURGH—A resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh for violating federal narcotics trafficking laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
The one-count indictment names Gregory Oneal, 33, as the sole defendant.
According to the indictment, on Jan. 21, 2011, Oneal possessed heroin with intent to distribute it.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of up to 30 years in prison, a fine of up to $2,000,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller is prosecuting this case on behalf of the United States.
The Pittsburgh Police Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case leading to the indictment of Oneal.
An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
