Erie Drug Dealer Sentenced to Six Years in Prison

ERIE, PA—A resident of Erie, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court to 72 months in jail on his conviction of violating federal drug laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

United States District Judge Sean J. McLaughlin imposed the sentence on Jagannon Stephon Williams, 29.

According to information presented to the court, on April 23, 2009, Williams agreed to sell an ounce of crack cocaine to another individual for $750.00. Williams then entered a residence in Erie, Pennsylvania where he retrieved and then delivered the crack cocaine. Then, on May 6, 2009, Williams again agreed to sell an ounce of crack cocaine, this time retrieving the drug and delivering it from another residence in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Prior to imposing sentence, Judge McLaughlin commented about the seriousness of the drug dealing conviction and found that Williams obstructed justice by attempting to intimidate a witness. Judge McLaughlin stated that such efforts to intimidate government witnesses would not be tolerated.

Assistant United States Attorney Marshall J. Piccinini prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.

U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the EAGLE task force, which is comprised of members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Erie Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Williams.
